IMPORTANT ORGANIZATIONAL UPDATE
The Louisiana Association of State Superintendents (LASS) has officially transitioned to become the Louisiana Association of Superintendents and School Administrators (LASSA) following a membership vote at the final LASS summer conference in June 2025.
This merger represents a significant step forward in uniting educational leadership across Louisiana. The decision was made by our members to better serve the evolving needs of superintendents and school administrators throughout the state.

Stay Connected: Please continue to visit this site for important updates during our transition period. A new website for LASSA is currently under development and will be launched soon with enhanced features and resources for our members.

Dr. Ken Oertling, superintendent of St. Charles Parish Schools, was named the 2025 Louisiana Superintendent of the Year by the Louisiana Association of School Superintendents (LASS). A panel of his peers selected Dr. Oertling based on the criteria of leadership for learning, communication, professionalism, and community involvement. The award was presented during the LASS Conference in Lake Charles, La. on June 17, 2025.
